second exit is my studio in downtown Toronto, Canada where, for the past 12 years, I experiment and record my own music, as well as mix and produce for [and with] other artists.
The studio has hosted a lot of interesting sessions including smaller band ensembles, singer/songwriters, music for dance, experimental music, poets and more. The house is rearranged to suit tracking, bands who have recorded here feel comfortable and feel free from the bonds of conventional recording spaces. The mix room / smaller tracking room is designed within the house itself and really makes for a comfortable and supportive space to work. For larger scale projects i prefer to track bed tracks at Ratspace – an associate space here in Toronto – and then bring the project back to second exit for further recording, overdubbing and mixing.
